Dr. Lauren Blackson

Dr Lauren Blackson was born and raised in Hockessin, Delaware.  In 2012, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Delaware, and then continued her education by completing her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at the University of Florida in 2018.  

 

Dr. Blackson has always had a strong interest in canine rehabilitation, and while she was in veterinary school she worked to complete her training as a Certified Canine Rehab Practitioner (CCRP) from the University of Tennessee in 2018.  

 

After gaining experience in private practice as a rehab therapist, Dr. Blackson opened up Peak Performance Canine Rehab and Agility in 2020 in order to provide more one-on-one care to her patients with a strong focus on manual therapy.

In 2023, Dr. Blackson further expanded her skill set, becoming a Certified Veterinary Medical Manipulation Practitioner (CVMMP) through the Chi University.

​

Dr. Blackson specializes in enhancing the performance of working dogs by focusing on their mobility, strength, and flexibility. Additionally, she excels in post-operative care, including aiding patients in regaining their normal gait and function.

​

Beyond her professional life, she enjoys training her three border collies in dog agility and exploring scenic mountain hikes with her husband and their pups!
